Kentford Education offers this nationally recognised program to students residing in New South Wales. Training is delivered through a blended model of online learning, simulated environments, and structured vocational placement, ensuring graduates are job-ready for roles such as support worker, care assistant, or community care worker.
Enrolment requires compliance with mandatory sector and government standards, including completion of the NDIS modules, a clear police check (issued within the last three months), a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance or evidence of application, and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination including booster.
How is the course delivered?
Training is delivered via Blended (Online distance + Vocational Placement)
Course Duration: This course is designed to be completed up to 32 weeks (including holidays).
Expected Study Hours: Typical learners are expected to spend approximately 1205 hours depending on existing knowledge, skills, and experience.

How is the course structured?
All learners will be assessed through:
- Observation during on-the-job or role play/simulation
- Questioning may include self-assessment, verbal answers, written questionnaires, activity modules or interview
- Third party
- Structured Activities may include Projects, Case studies, presentations, role play, demonstration, progressive tasks
What are the entry requirements?
Kentford Education screens students according to the following criteria:
- Are 18 years of age and over
- Have sound Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy (LLND) skills
- Local individuals, living within NSW, Australia
- Have successfully completed at least Australian high school year 10
*All students must complete the Pre-enrolment Assessment Form as an evaluation of their current
language, literacy, numeracy, digital literacy, and existing skills to confirm course suitability and
identify support needs. This step ensures learners understand the expectations and are matched
to the right training pathway.
Applicants who do not meet the LLND requirements of the course may still enrol into the course
provided the enrolment has been endorsed by the trainer and corresponding additional support
strategies have been put in place. If additional support or adjustments are required, these are
discussed prior to confirming enrolment. Pre-enrolment interviews are also conducted by our
trainers and assessors via Teams/Zoom giving learners the chance to clarify course requirements
directly.
Learners are required to undertake a minimum of 120 hours of vocational placement within a registered and approved aged care, home and community, disability or community service facility.
However, mandatory requirements of the sector and government are as follows:
- Completion of NDIS modules
- Clear Police check (no older than 3 months)
- Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card, or evidence of application
- Triple vaccination for COVID-19 (Full vaccination including booster)
Physical Requirements
To work efficiently and effectively in aged care and disability support environments, learners must be able to undertake duties typical of the role. These may include:
- performing safe manual handling, including lifting and repositioning clients with the use of aids and equipment
- providing personal support and assistance with daily living activities
- walking, standing, and moving for extended periods in care settings
- maintaining infection prevention and control standards, including the use of PPE
- communicating clearly with clients, carers, and health professionals
- completing written documentation and following care plans
What are the resources needed to complete the course?
To support you in your new course with Kentford Education, we will provide the following:
- CHC33021 learning and assessment suite which includes:
- Learner Guides
- Assessment Workbooks
- Templates for Projects and other activities;
- Simulated resources to provide students with simulated assessment pathways (not applicable to all assessment tasks specially those to be done during vocation placement)
- Additional course readings and resources recommended by trainers.
Vocational placement providers must allow access to:
- Vocational workplace supervisor(s) to supervise and confirm completion of the required tasks included in the Skills Workbook. The workplace supervisor must:
- Have adequate knowledge and understanding of the provision of aged care
- Have the ability to effectively supervise and manage aged care services
- Have the necessary experience and qualification(s) in the area of individual support specialising in aged care (e.g. you have the relevant VET qualification/s, Certificate III in Individual Support Specialising in Aged Care/Disability or higher)
- Additional course readings and resources recommended by trainers.
- Clients’ health information, including but are not limited to:
- individualised plans (including information associated with the plans)
- individualised behaviour support plans
- Clients’ family and or carers
- Details of appropriate and local resources, programs, agencies, transport services, aids and equipment
- Current legislation, regulations and codes of practices
- Organisational policies, protocols, and procedures including but not limited to:
- Work health and safety
- Safe work practices
- Manual handling
- Infection control
- Behaviours of concern and critical incidents
- Protocols and procedures relevant to carers and families
- Workplace equipment and resources normally used by care workers (i.e., as needed: patient hoists, standing lifter, wheelchair, other client assistive devices and mobility aids, and PPE)
- Modelling of industry operations, including but are not limited to:
- access to people with disability
- access to people, carers or family members with whom the candidate can interact
- involvement of real people when using relevant equipment
- real interactions with the person and their carers
- using suitable facilities, equipment and resources
- presence of problem-solving activities
- integration of problem-solving activities to which the candidate responds
- scenarios that present behaviours of concern that occur in real work environments
- Workplace to conduct a work health and safety inspection
- Resources for infection prevention and control, such as:
- organisational infection prevention and control guidelines
- personal protective equipment
- hand hygiene facilities and equipment
- medical/client care equipment relevant to the workplace
- clinical and other waste disposal equipment
- areas for cleaning
- equipment for cleaning, including sterilised sharps if relevant to role
To complete your course, you will need ongoing access to the following:
- Computer/laptop with relevant software such as, but not limited to, the following:
- internet access, preferably through Google Chrome
- MS Word and PowerPoint
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Webcam, microphone and audio output device (headphones, speakers) for video calls

The CHC33021 course is available for only $2,900.00. Initial deposit of $1,500 followed by 5 monthly payments of $280.
